Their style and influences : Green Day are considered like a punk rock band. Their music is influenced by Ramones, The Clash, Buzzcocks

We have chosen the song « Holiday » (from album American Idiot) because
it criticizes the American government. Green Day even compare the members of the present government to the nazis during the second world war. In their opinion, Georges Bush and his « team » can behave in such a way only because the American population is on « holiday ». Indeed, the Americans are not awake, Green Day try to show what some politicians, especially members of the Conservative party, think or do in order to gain loads of voices when it's election time. The lyrics mean these men and women use subtle strategies and never say what they really think, they only say what the Americans want to hear.
